Ministries

 As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

By the grace of God, St. Philopater & St. Demiana Coptic Orthodox Church has established several ministries intended to serve the needs of our church. We hope that each member finds a place suitable for them to participate and serve in our community.

St. Cyril Sunday School

We provide lessons and activities encourage continual growth and learning to occur, not only at the time we meet, but also in all the moments in between. The intent of the service is to grow, one by one, to serve our children throughout all ages.

Classes are held weekly on Saturdays following the Divine Liturgy

 

St. Photini Women’s Meeting

The women’s ministry seeks to invite, embrace, and involve Coptic Orthodox Christian Women in the life of the Church through actions of faith, fellowship, and service. We promote the Orthodox Christian faith in accordance with its canons, teachings and divine worship.

Meetings are held bi-weekly on Tuesdays at 7:15

 

The Good Samaritan Service

Our mission is to help the helpless; to serve those in need, whatever their circumstances; to actively participate in the salvific mission of the Church in the world through caring for those in need: the hungry, the poor, the homeless, the sick, the disabled, the elderly, the orphans, the persecuted, and those in captivity.

St. Basil Adults Class

Join us each week as we expound and unveil the mysteries of the Church and the high calling of Christian Perfection. Together, we will explore the contours of a Spirit filled life as experienced and articulated by the Church Fathers.

Classes are held weekly on Wednesdays at 8:00 PM

 

St. Moses Young Men’s Ministry

The young men’s ministry aims to provide a platform for spiritual formation through various events such as spiritual retreats, service projects, & community service as well as foster strong fellowship through a variety of activities (organized sports, group outings, etc.).

Activities and hangouts are held bi-weekly.

 

The Lighthouse (Newcomers) Service

The Lighthouse service exists to support those in the community looking for authentic spirituality and truth in the Orthodox church. It offers a class designed for teach new believers the faith and support their growth on their spiritual journey. It also provides opportunities to encourage belonging through social connection and joint struggle.
